Namaste. Hare Krishna Holidays Travels and Tours is a travel agency based in Kathmandu, run by members of the ISKCON community.
We started by arranging travel for devotees and temple groups who wanted to reach Nepal's sacred places without spending half the trip negotiating with drivers. That is still the core of the work. Most of our guests come from India, and most come for the temples, so we plan around darshan timings, vegetarian food and the pace an older pilgrim can actually keep.
What we offer is a complete arrangement rather than a booking: the information about each place before you go, the visa and permit paperwork, the air tickets, the hotels, the meals and the guide, all handled by the same office.
The work has grown outward from Nepal. We now arrange international packages as well as domestic ones, taking groups to Ayodhya, Kashi, Vrindavan, Jagannath Puri and the Char Dham, to Sri Lanka along the Ramayana trail, and further east to Angkor Wat and Bali.
Common questions
How do I pay, and how much is the deposit?
Most bookings are confirmed with a deposit of about a quarter of the total, with the balance due before the tour begins. We accept bank transfer, eSewa, Khalti and card payments, and issue a written receipt for every payment.
Do you help with visas?
Yes. We tell you which visa you need for your passport, prepare the supporting documents, and handle Tibet permits and Indian border formalities ourselves.
Is the food vegetarian?
Pure vegetarian throughout, arranged ahead at every stop. Jain food, sattvic meals without onion and garlic, and fasting-day arrangements can all be requested.
Can elderly travellers manage these tours?
Most of them, with the right pacing. Tell us the ages and any walking limits and we adjust the itinerary, arrange ground-floor rooms, and use vehicles where the climb is steep.
What happens if a mountain flight is cancelled?
Flights to Jomsom and Lukla depend on the weather, so we build a spare day into those itineraries and keep a road alternative ready.
Can you handle a large group?
Yes. Group rates apply from fifteen people and we assign one coordinator for the length of the trip.
